The film uses waterfall as a metaphor for the accumulated and eventually bursting pressure under the pandemic, which impacts all of us. The important scene of the flooding river in the film was shot around Tonghou River in Wulai, New Taipei.

Dutch director David Verbeek has chosen to shoot in Taiwan many times. The two key scenes of the film, the helipad and the party where the main characters turned into vampires, were shot on the rooftop of New Taipei City Government Building and Jingtong Coal Mine Memorial Park in Pingxi, respectively. In addition, the woods that the main characters passed by on the way to the party are in Baiji Mountain in Sanxia.

The drama &quot;Tears on Fire&quot; focuses on the daily life of firefighters, shedding light on their little-known workplace, the stress and frustration at work, the friendship between colleagues, and the impact of firefighting work on family relationships. While educating the audience about this high-risk job, the show received high ratings and great word-of-mouth.

The filming locations of this work include Wulai, Xindian, Shulin, Danshui, and Linkou in New Taipei. Before the filming started, the director and the screenwriter spent time at the Xindian unit and Jyuguang unit of New Taipei City Fire Department for field research. They even went on real missions with the firefighters to observe their work close-up. The fictional Tongan unit in the show is actually the combination of three sets, including the high-rise garage and the big square of Shulin unit, and the duty desk and the top floor of Jinshan unit. The interior of Tongan unit, including the office, stand-by room, and kitchen, were created in the old Tamsui Land Office building.
