Located on the banks of the Tamsui River, Fort San Domingo has witnessed the passage of many eras. This red brick fortress stands at the port of Tamsui. When the breeze slowly blows at dusk, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset of Tamsui, overlooking Guanyin Mountain and the mouth of the Tamsui River. You can also appreciate the beauty of the British Consular Residence, which incorporates Chinese elements.
The stunning scenery has naturally attracted many film and television teams to come and shoot, capturing the breathtaking scenery frame by frame. Not only do many film and television crews come here to shoot and film, but it is also a popular first choice for many couples to shoot wedding dresses.
The TV series "SEQALU:Formosa 1867" and "Gold Leaf" were filmed in Fort San Domingo, Tamsui. Both crews used the British Consul's official residence in the former Qing Dynasty to shoot the scene of the office of Charles Le Gendre, the U.S. Consul in Xiamen, in "SEQALU:Formosa 1867", and the scene in "Gold Leaf" where Yi-Xin Chang discusses the tea business. The red bricks and arcades of the official residence make people feel as if they are traveling through time and feeling the joys and sorrows of the characters in the play.
