Shou-Rang Hall, located in Wugu District, New Taipei City, was originally a traditional Sanheyuan courtyard house built by the prominent Wu Yu family in 1917. With over a century of history, it is an essential cultural landmark in Wugu. The architectural style of Shou-Rang Hall belongs to the Minnan-style Sanheyuan with a single row and double-wing rooms. Its exterior is exquisite, and the craftsmanship demonstrates the refined construction techniques of residential buildings from that era. The Shou-Rang Hall demolished some land and preserved the right-wing room in 2007 because of the construction of the Sun Yat-sen Freeway, and completed a remote reconstruction in 2020. It is the first historical building in New Taipei City to be rebuilt in a different location.
The Shou-Rang Hall has transformed into a historical and cultural exhibition and educational space, with exhibition halls, experiential classrooms, and libraries. It plans diverse thematic content, introducing the local history, industrial development, and cultural style of Wugu. While retaining its traditional style, the hall provides a serene and elegant environment ideal for visitors. It has become an ideal choice for film and television crews to shoot traditional Minnan-style architectural scenes.
