Introduction

Jiufen Old Street, located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, is a hillside town settlement nestled between mountains and sea, blending historical culture with a romantic atmosphere. Once prosperous due to gold mining, Jiufen transformed into a popular mountain tourist destination after the mining industry declined. Its streets are mostly concentrated along main sections like Jishan Street, Shuqi Road, and Qingbian Road. Stone steps, narrow alleys, old houses, and terraced rooftops are scattered in an orderly fashion, forming a distinct mountain-town landscape.
The streets are lined with shops selling local delicacies like taro balls, herbal rice cakes, fish balls, and tea houses. One can also find handicrafts and nostalgic souvenirs. At dusk, as mist permeates the air and lights gradually come on, the view of Keelung Mountain and the coastline from the teahouses is poetic and enchanting.
With its rich layers of light and shadow and nostalgic imagery, Jiufen Old Street is particularly suitable for filming art films, romance dramas, travel documentaries, or corporate image videos.
